Traditionally they make jute bags, but nowadays they mainly make polypropylene bags. Bags that can hold 25 kilos or 50 kilos of product, but also tailor-made big bags are supplied by them. It is an internationally oriented company, with an emphasis on Western Europe. What sets Interjute apart from the competition? Relieving customers, especially within the fertilizer, compound feed and malt industry. Quality and service come first. And to be able to permanently guarantee quality plus service in 2022 is digitizing a must.
Jack Lauwers (Finance Manager): “The corona period has partly prompted us to take a closer look at our software and hardware. The conclusion: there is a great opportunity to go more digital and therefore to work more efficiently. Nearly 95% of our communication today takes place digitally. Nice if you have a system that connects to it. Codeless makes it possible for us to make a big catch-up in the field of software. And a nice extra: they also help in terms of hardware. They relieve us of our worries enormously.”
Interjute and Codeless have been working together for many years. That is to say: When Codeless was not yet Codeless, but was still called Impuls, the two parties already worked together. They have been in business together for about 25 years. At the time, they started collaborating with a software program that was in line with the packaging industry. In 2006 it was time for a renewal of the program that had been worked with up to that point and although Interjute sat down with various parties, the choice fell on Codeless again.
Jack Lauwers says about this: “In 2006 we fell for the expertise of Codeless again. The good relationship and the knowledge they possess were decisive for us. At the time, there were a number of parties who said they could do it for less. But you could then purchase a standard package, where you know that – if you want something extra – you will often encounter a no. At Codeless you can go in all directions. In principle, everything is possible. That is important to us, that flexibility.”
In 2006 Codeless upgraded the then-current software package from Interjute. It became Windows compatible. Something that is now more than obvious. But Codeless also delivered a customs package. A package that has been expanded over the years and adapted if necessary.
“Within Interjute we have to deal with customs formalities a lot.” Indicates Jack Lauwers. “We have to pay import duties on the bags ourselves and customs require us to do this automatically. This functionality has been integrated by Codeless into the package we were already working with. At the time, it was great to see that Codeless not only understands programming but also customs legislation. Codeless works a lot with parties that import and/or export on a large scale, so there is a lot of knowledge in that area.”
In 2021, all Interjute packages were reviewed and the conclusion was: a new upgrade is not a superfluous luxury. The layout had to be more modern but the functionality also had to be adapted to the current standards. Everything (from uploading to adjusting to sending) had to be digital, employees had to be able to share things more easily. That kind of thing.
Jack Lauwers: “We drew up a wish list. But most of what we needed turned out to be already in Codeless’s new software package. So that was relatively easy. The challenge this time was mainly in the overall picture. We are currently also updating our hardware environment. Now there is still a server here, but we will go to the Cloud with it later. At the moment we still work with fixed workstations at the office, from a terminal server environment. Soon they will all be laptops. So we are catching up in both hardware and software. The good thing is: Codeless guides us. That is to say: our external hardware administrator immediately aligns everything with Codeless and Codeless updates us once a week. That relieves us greatly. ”
Lauwers is pleased with Codeless not only in terms of unburdening. We mentioned it before, their knowledge is also a big plus: “It is rare that we have a question of which they do not know what we mean or that it is not possible.” In addition, the Finance Manager of Interjute says it is nice that the staff who work at Codeless have generally been working there for a fairly long time: “We now know quite a few people within Codeless. And the people who work there also know who we are. If a consultation is necessary, someone will visit the company. In addition, the communication is just good. Professional and personal. Finally, there is room for emergencies. If something really needs to be done now, I call and it will be arranged. That works great!”
